Our operations spans Manufacturing, Distribution and Support Teams across Malaysia and Singapore.

Food Product Manufacturing

Barkath Group operates three manufacturing subsidiaries, Hacks Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Barkath Foods Sdn Bhd and Barkath Co-Ro Manufacturing Sdn Bhd.

These plants produce a wide range of food and beverage products. Its portfolio includes a diverse selection across multiple categories, emphasizing quality ingredients, food safety, and Halal compliance—reflecting the Group’s commitment to delivering value and taste to consumers.

Confectionery and sweets

Including the well-known Hacks medicated sweets in multiple flavors.

Fruit concentrates and beverages

Through Barkath Co-Ro Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, a joint venture with Co-Ro A/S of Denmark, Barkath produces Sunquick fruit concentrates and ready-to-drink fruit beverages for the Malaysian market.

Packaged food ranges

Products under in-house brands such as Kings, Sarina, and ClassFoods, spanning baking ingredients, canned foods, and other food staples.

HALAL POLICY

Barkath Foods Sdn. Bhd. and Hacks Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. are committed and consistent in producing products that are Halal, safe and of high quality, to satisfy the needs of consumers, by strictly adhering to the Halal requirements issued by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).

We will ensure that the Halal integrity of our food begins from the control of raw materials and all the way to manufacturing, packing, storing and distribution. To do so, these Halal practices must be carried out:

  • Ensure all ingredients used are certified Halal by JAKIM or by any halal certification bodies recognised by JAKIM.
  • Ensure the Halal integrity, cleanliness and sanitation of the production area, warehouse, transports, toilets, changing room, canteen and other areas are of utmost satisfaction.
  • Ensure all equipment, utensils and tools are free of elements that may lead to cross-contamination, thus compromising the status of a Halal, safe and quality food.
  • Ensure all employees adhere to the company and regulatory Halal, personal hygiene and GMP requirements.
  • Prevent employees from bringing in non-halal food and drink into the premise.
  • Comply with the requirements of MS1500 (Halal Food-General Requirements).
  • Continually improve the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of our Halal Assurance Management System.

FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY POLICY

Hacks Malaysia Sdn Bhd recognizes and acknowledges its responsibility for the safety and quality of the products and will ensure that the provision of all food products under the auspice of this policy is safe and fit for human consumption.

 

The scope of this policy covers from the receiving of raw materials and packaging materials, producing, storing and delivering of hard-boiled candies.

In order to ensure that Hacks Malaysia produces safe and quality products, we shall:

  • Ensure all workers are practicing good personal hygiene to prevent any possibility of cross-contamination into raw materials or finished goods.
  • Ensure the use of raw ingredients and packing materials are safe and in compliance to the food safety requirements.
  • Ensure the food safety integrity, cleanliness and sanitation of the production area, warehouse, transports, toilets, changing room, canteen and other areas are of utmost satisfaction.
  • Ensure all equipment, utensils and tools are free of elements that may lead to cross-contamination, thus compromising the status of a safe and quality food.
  • Comply with the Food Safety and Quality requirements and any other related regulatory and customer rules and requirements.
  • Continually improve the suitability, adequacy and effectiveness of our Food Safety Management System.
  • Ensure all staff are competent in food safety handling.
  • Ensure internal and external communication is established and effective in disseminating food safety requirements, arising food safety issues and improvements.

Distribution & Trade

From its early days as a local trader, Barkath Group has built a comprehensive distribution network that spans Malaysia and extends into Singapore. The Group’s distribution arm operates trading centres and depots across major regions—Penang, Ipoh, Johor Bahru, Kota Bharu, East Malaysia as well as international representation in Singapore. These operations are made possible through Barkath Stores Penang Sdn Bhd, Barkath Stores Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd and Barkath Stores Ptd Ltd. This network supports the nationwide availability of its products in supermarkets, traditional retailers, convenience stores, and foodservice channels. Besides that, Barkath Group also exports its goods to Indonesia, Taiwan and Vietnam and Brunei.
